Why do I need to make orders for products or services like groceries to my beneficiaries through BuySalubong ?
Using BuySalubong assures your loved-ones that they will always receive the most basic of things like food-on-the-table. BuySalubong also helps our countrymen gain employment as you will be buying goods in the Philippines rather than sending goods from abroad through door-to-door delivery.

Why don’t I just remit money or send items door-to-door?
Remitting money and door-to-door delivery costs can be very expensive. Have you actually computed how much you spend in a year for this?! At BuySalubong, (1) there is no expensive remittance cost or cable charge; (2) for pick-ups by your beneficiaries at our partner-stores, no expensive delivery charges shouldered by you; (3) you control how your money is efficiently used for the benefit of your Beneficiaries; and (4) your hard-earned money will not go to counter-productive activities like drinking, gambling, wrong investments or plain misuse.

Are the prices on BuySalubong reasonable ?
YES. BuySalubong’s mission is to tie up only with suppliers who can offer products or services on-line at close-to-shelf-price or what they regularly sell in their normal business operations.

Can I pay in other currencies?
BuySalubong and its products- and services-providers are committed to price all online shopping transactions in Philippine Pesos as it is our mission to promote the country’s economy and help make the Peso stronger. If your credit/debit/ATM card is based on a currency different from the Philippine Peso, your card issuer will take care of the necessary conversion.

How do my beneficiaries receive the orders I paid for?
BuySalubong is designed to provide flexible and convenient methods of fulfilling your orders. Depending on your choice, your Beneficiaries can receive your pasalubong via pick-up or door-to-door delivery. For door-to-door delivery, appropriate delivery charges will apply.

When can my beneficiaries receive the orders I paid for?
This depends on what pasalubong you have ordered with BuySalubong for your Beneficiary. For products such as Groceries, the order is ready within 2 days after paying for your order. For services, fulfillment may be within 2 days or a bit longer, depending on the type of service required. All these are clearly indicated in the BuySalubong shopping list.

Is there a deadline for my Beneficiary to pick up orders?
All pick-up orders must be picked up within 30 days after you have completed the payment of the order. This is to guarantee the availability of your ordered products/services at the same price that you paid for.

Can I register more than one Beneficiary?
BuySalubong understands the Filipino culture of bayanihan (community joining hands to help each other). You can register as many Beneficiaries as you wish and you may add or remove Beneficiaries by simply updating your personal profile.

Can my Beneficiary have a representative receive the orders I made?
Yes but ONLY IF you personally advise us by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This protects you in the case of people pretending to be your Beneficiary from picking up and this ensures us that our merchant-partners hand your pasalubong to your intended Beneficiary.

Why are BuySalubong grocery items only in fixed baskets of goods? Can’t we choose what groceries we want to send?
BuySalubong is not a shopping site. Its grocery baskets were created with your ordering convenience in mind as well as a result of extensive studies made on the food needs of Filipino families in general. Your Beneficiaries may, however, have the privilege of changing some of the items in the basket with the chosen supermarket when they pick up the orders.  This is as long as the total cost of the grocery basket does not exceed the value of your paid order. Please take note that BuySalubong strictly forbids Beneficiaries from changing your ordered items into tobacco, wine or liquor.

How do I find out if my order has been fulfilled and served to my Beneficiary?
BuySalubong strongly recommends that your Beneficiary always inform you directly once they get your pasalubong and use that opportunity to express their gratitude.  BuySalubong’s online social community network is a perfect way for you and your Beneficiary to keep in touch with each other – best of all, it’s FREE!

Can I send a message to my Beneficiaries together with my pasalubong?
Yes! Another unique feature of BuySalubong allows you to send a simple greeting message together with your pasalubong to your Beneficiary and this feature is again FREE OF CHARGE. Note however that because of the preparation time for some products and services, sending urgent messages together with your orders may not be practical. In such cases, we suggest you go to the BuySalubong online social community network and send your urgent messages there.
